In Cuba, all international patients receiving cancer treatment stay at the La Pradera International Health Center. Established in 1996, La Pradera features a swimming pool available for patients to use.
Although it is a modest facility, La Pradera offers rehabilitation programs in 10 different specialties, including oncology, cardiology, diabetes, hearing disorders, skin diseases, and orthopedics.
Like all hospitals in Cuba, La Pradera is a government-run institution. The facility does not perform surgeries. If surgical intervention is necessary, foreign patients are referred to other hospitals in Cuba and then return to La Pradera for rehabilitation.
Located in Havana, the clinic has also welcomed many internationally recognized figures. Among them is legendary footballer Diego Armando Maradona, who received treatment at La Pradera and is one of the most famous names associated with the center.
