Cuba, which has made significant progress in the treatment of cancer, as well as vitiligo, alopecia, psoriasis, and night blindness, is attracting increasing attention from patients in Turkey.
Managers at QBA MediTours, which facilitates travel for those who wish to go to Cuba for cancer vaccines, emphasized the strong demand from Turkey.
Uğur Yücel, the founder of QBA MediTours—officially approved by the Cuban Ministry of Health, the Cuban Embassy, and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs—stated:
“There are many people in our country who want to go to Cuba, especially for cancer treatment. The medical reports of cancer patients who apply to us are sent to Cuba by our company. Specialist oncologists quickly inform us whether the patient is eligible for the treatments applied in Cuba. If the reports are approved, we arrange the patient’s transfer to Cuba. The Cuban Ministry of Health informs us about the appropriate treatment, how long it will take, and what the total cost will be.”
No Adverse Effects from the Cancer Vaccine
“Cuba offers vaccine therapies and alternative biotherapy methods for many types of cancer, especially head and neck, colon, stomach, pancreatic, breast, and soft tissue cancers. Additional cancers treated with vaccines include non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and glioblastoma (brain tumors).
This vaccine does not attack tumors directly. Instead, it targets a protein called epidermal growth factor (EGF), which circulates in the blood and is produced by the tumor. This protein signals cells to grow and divide. The vaccine works by blocking the protein from binding to cancer cells.
Cuba’s cancer vaccines are not preventive vaccines; rather, they stop the growth and spread (metastasis) of existing tumors. Late-stage cancer becomes a disease that people can live with. The aim of the treatment is to turn cancer into a chronic condition,” said Uğur Yücel.
“According to the Cuban professors administering the treatment, we observe no side effects—even at the site of subcutaneous injection. This is a major advantage.”
Arif Sağ Also Went to Cuba for Treatment in December
Uğur Yücel continued:
“The esteemed Turkish musician Arif Sağ, who has lung cancer, traveled to Cuba through our company and received treatment. He was given a ‘quality of life’ program—a method known to strengthen the immune system and reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. His treatment in Cuba lasted about 5 days.
As QBA MediTours, our goal is to be by our patients’ side both physically and emotionally throughout the entire process. For patients traveling from Turkey to Cuba, we become their extended family. I can sincerely say that we do everything we can to help them get through this journey as smoothly as possible.”
